There is a difference between Obedience and Behavior Modification. Behavior problems are usually psychological, and often result in approaching the issues from a different viewpoint. However, you should never rule out a physical ailment that could be contributing to the behavior. If there are no medical reasons behind aggressive or fearful behavior or seemingly obsessive behavior, then the best way to address the problem is psychologically.

When a dog displays behaviors such as obsession, fearfulness, excitability, and  aggression, it usually means the dog's physical and mental scale is off and ballance must be restored to maintain a healthy, happy relationship between you and your dog.

What qualifies a dog for behavior modification?
Certainly there are countless behaviors that all dogs commonly share. However, there are those that push owners to the point of giving up all together. Pulling on the leash, excessive barking, jumping on people and digging are all excitable behaviors and are addressed in the 8 week Interactive Obedience Course. Growling, snapping, or biting at other dogs and/or people are unacceptable in the classroom environment and therefore fit behavior modification criteria for in-home services.

For the most part, dogs who are adopted from kennels and shelters often are not given the proper rehabilitation into the family environment, causing an overwhelming return rate!  It is a personal mission of ours to educate people on the challenges their new family members face, and to eliminate the return rate all together. We offer a FREE complementary evaluation session to all those who adopt from local animal shelters and rescues.

By showing proof of adoption there is a discount for any of our available courses or services.

The price for behavior modification and rehabilitation is $70 an hour. Cost may vary depending on travel time and the difficulty of the task at hand. If you think your dog may need behavior modification, email your questions and concerns to the instructors or fill out the online enrollment form on this site.
